VINTAGE CHART  -  German Estate Wines

The ratings can only be taken as a general guideline for Estate Wines according to my own personal experience. A few good wines are also made in mediocre years, depending on the macroclimate of the vineyard and expertise of the winemaker.

The total crop includes generic wines as well as sparkling wines, stated in million hectolitres.

5++ = a greatest vintage of the Century for both quality and maturing potential
5+   = outstanding qualities with excellent maturing potential

5   =  excellent vintage; numerous great wines
4   =  very good
3   =  good
2   =  not so good, mediocre
